    Event Description - Bryan Series: Thomas Friedman
    Thomas Friedman is an op-ed columnist for The New York Times and a three-time recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for his international reporting and commentary. He became the newspaper’s foreign affairs op-ed columnist in 1995. He joined the Times in 1981 and served as Beirut bureau chief, Israel bureau chief, chief diplomatic correspondent, chief White House correspondent and international economic correspondent. His books include the National Book Award-winner From Beirut to Jerusalem, The World is Flat: A Brief History of the Twenty-first Centur and Hot, Flat and Crowded. His most recent book is That Used to Be Us: How American Fell Behind in the World We Invented and How We Can Come Back. He earned degrees from Brandeis University and Oxford University.

    I-85 South/I-40 West From Burlington

    From the I-85 South / I-40 west split, follow I-40 West 7.5 miles too Exit 218-B Freeman Mill Road. Go .3 miles and turn left on Coliseum Boulevard. One mile to the Complex on your left, turn left onto Ellington Street and right into the main entrance.

    I-85 North From Charlotte

    On I-85 North from Charlotte, take Exit 120-A to access I-85 Business North. Continue 2 miles to Exit 35-B, Highway US 220 North. Proceed 1.8 miles and turn left on Coliseum Boulevard. One mile to the Complex on your left, turn left onto Ellington Street and right into the main entrance.

    I-40 East From Winston-Salem

    On I-40 East from Winston Salem, take Exit 216 Patterson Street, continue straight ahead for 2.4 miles to the Coliseum Complex. Or, continue 5 miles on I-40 East to Exit 217 High Point Road. Turn left at top of ramp and continue 1 mile on High Point Road to Ellington Street. Turn right for .5 miles and enter Complex through main entrance.

    Highway 220 North From Asheboro

    Highway 220 North to Greensboro becomes Freeman Mill Road. Stay on Freeman Mill Road, after crossing I-85 Business, proceed 1.8 miles and turn left onto Coliseum Boulevard. 1 mile to the Complex on your left, turn left onto Ellington Street and right into the main entrance.

    Highway 220 South from Virginia

    On Highway 220 South to Greensboro, road changes name to Battleground Avenue in the City. After crossing Cornwallis, keep right which becomes Westover Terrace. Continue straight on Westover Terrace which becomes Aycock Street. Continue straight for 3 miles across Spring Garden Street. Turn right at the next light which is Lee Street (Wendy's on the right). The Complex is one mile on your left. Turn left onto Coliseum Boulevard.

    Highway Directions from Piedmont Triad International Airport

    Leave the airport and exit east to I-40 and Bryan Boulevard. Remain in the right lane 1.5 miles and exit to I-73 south (unmarked) I-40 Raleigh/Winston Salem. Continue on I-73 South, 2.7 miles to exit 1 I-40 east. Continue 3 miles to Exit 216 Patterson Street. Continue straight ahead for 2.5 miles to the Coliseum complex. Or, continue 4.2 miles on I-40 East to Exit 217 High Point Road. Turn left at top of ramp and continue 1 mile on High Point Road to Ellington Street. Turn right for .5 miles and enter Complex through main entrance.
